Site connectivity, business phones and site CCTV for UK construction firms and contractors.
Construction businesses run from two places at once: a head office that never sees the site, and a site cabin that changes address every few months. Atom IP deliver rapid-deploy 4G/5G site connectivity, cloud phone systems that follow site managers and quantity surveyors wherever they are, business broadband and IT for head office, and solar or mains-powered site CCTV with monitored response — for main contractors, groundworks and civils firms, M&E contractors and housebuilders across Hampshire and the UK.
The problems this sector actually has.
Not a generic technology pitch — the specific patterns we see in Construction every week.
Sites need connectivity before fibre can be installed
A new site cabin needs internet for drawings, timesheets, deliveries and video calls on day one. Fixed-line lead times of two to three months make no sense for a site that will be gone in eighteen.
Site managers are unreachable, or reachable on the wrong number
Clients, subcontractors and suppliers ring whichever mobile they last had. Staff move site, leave the business or change phones, and the number goes with them.
Theft and plant security
Plant, fuel, copper and tools disappear from unattended sites overnight. Insurers increasingly expect monitored CCTV before they will cover a site properly.
Head office cannot see the estate
Different suppliers for every site cabin, no central view of connectivity, phones or cameras, and invoices that are impossible to reconcile against projects.
Subcontractor and supplier calls with no record
Variations agreed verbally, delivery times confirmed on the phone, instructions given on site. When a dispute arrives months later there is nothing to refer to.
Phones, broadband and CCTV — designed as one system.
Most providers deliver these separately. In Construction, that's where the problems start. Under one team, everything is designed to work with everything else.
- Rapid-deploy 4G/5G routers with external antennas for site cabins and compounds.
- Bonded or dual-SIM options where a single network is weak.
- Site-wide Wi-Fi for cabins, welfare units and yards.
- Fixed-line FTTP or leased line for long-running sites and head office.
- Cloud-managed firewall so every site follows head-office policy.
- Hardware moved from site to site as projects complete — no re-buying.
- One business number per person on mobile app, laptop and cabin deskphone.
- Project or site numbers that route to whoever is running the job that week.
- Recording of subcontractor and supplier calls for variations and instructions.
- Head-office reception with overflow to estimating, accounts and contracts teams.
- Integration with Procore, Fieldwire, Causeway, COINS, Eque2 and Microsoft 365.
- Atom Insight summaries of site calls — variations, delivery changes, instructions.
- Rugged handsets for yards, workshops and stores.
- Rapid-deploy CCTV towers — solar or mains — with 4G backhaul.
- Monitored detection with audio challenge and keyholder or police response.
- ANPR at site entrances for delivery and visitor logging.
- Time-lapse capture for progress reporting and client updates.
- Fixed CCTV and access control for head office, yards and stores.
- Redeployable across projects as sites open and close.
How it plays out.
Anonymised, illustrative of the kind of Construction business we work with every month.
Typical deployment: regional main contractor with six live sites and a head office
Head office on a business park with an ageing phone system and a single broadband line. Six live sites, each with a site manager arranging their own dongle or mobile hotspot. Site cabins with no Wi-Fi for drawings or video calls. Plant theft on two sites in the past year. Verbal variations with subcontractors regularly disputed at final account.
Rapid-deploy 4G/5G routers with external antennas installed in every site cabin within days of set-up, managed centrally and moved on when a site completes. Cloud phone system gives every site manager and QS a business number that works on their mobile, with site numbers routing to whoever is running the job. Subcontractor and supplier calls recorded and summarised, giving contracts managers a record of variations and instructions. Rapid-deploy CCTV towers with monitored response on the exposed sites. Head office moved to FTTP with 4G failover. One monthly bill split by project code.

Common questions from construction.
How quickly can you get a new site cabin online?
Typically within a few working days of site set-up. We install a managed 4G/5G router with external antennas in the cabin, add site Wi-Fi where needed, and move the hardware to your next site when the project completes.
Can a site number follow whoever is running the job?
Yes. Each project can have its own number that routes to the current site manager, with fallback to a deputy or head office. When staff change, the routing changes — the number stays the same for the client and subcontractors.
Do you provide temporary CCTV for sites?
Yes. Rapid-deploy towers, solar or mains powered, with 4G backhaul and monitored detection including audio challenge and keyholder or police response. They are redeployed as sites open and close.
Can calls with subcontractors be recorded?
Yes. Recording is available on every device, including the mobile app, with a recording announcement where required. Atom Insight can summarise each call — variations, delivery changes, instructions — so contracts managers have a written record.
