What is post-call admin costing your recruitment desk?
Every minute a consultant spends typing a number, writing a note and updating a record is a minute not spent talking to a candidate or a client. Put your own figures in below. We have not pre-loaded any benchmarks or improvement claims — the arithmetic is shown, and the assumptions are yours.
How many people on your floor spend their day on the phone.
Your own figure, not a benchmark. Include outbound and inbound.
Time spent typing the number, writing the note and updating the record afterwards.
Used only to express reclaimed time as additional calls.
21 is a reasonable average once holiday is allowed for.
Used to express reclaimed time as a cost. Base salary only — employer National Insurance, pension and commission are excluded, so the real figure is higher.
On your numbers
25 consultants × 45 calls × 2 min × 21 days
- Post-call admin, per month
- 788 hours
- That is 32 hours a month per consultant, and 9,450 hours a year across the team.
- Salary cost of that time
- £13,333 /mo
- £160,000 a year, at £17 an hour
- Equivalent extra calls
- 11,813 /mo
- If that time went back into 4-minute conversations
This is arithmetic on assumptions you have entered — it is not a prediction, a benchmark or a claim about what we will achieve for you. Integrated dialling and automatic call logging reduce post-call admin rather than eliminating it, and consultants will not convert every reclaimed minute into a call. Treat it as a way of sizing the problem, then judge the real figure from a pilot on your own desk.
Mention your numbers in the form and we will work through them with you.

Click-to-dial from the CRM record

Automatic call logging and outcomes
Activity, duration and disposition written back without anyone typing — which also makes your desk reporting honest.

AI call summaries and next actions
Removes most of what is left of note-writing, and captures commitments that would otherwise be forgotten.

About this calculator
Where do the numbers in this calculator come from?
Entirely from you. Every input is a figure you set, and the maths is shown next to the result. We have deliberately not pre-loaded industry benchmarks or uplift percentages, because we cannot evidence them for your desks.
How is the hourly cost worked out?
Base salary divided by working hours, using the working days you entered and a 7.5-hour day. Employer National Insurance, pension contributions and commission are excluded, so the true cost of the time is higher than the figure shown.
Would integrated dialling really remove all of that admin?
No, and we would not claim it. Click-to-dial removes the typing and misdialling; automatic call logging removes most of the note-writing; AI summaries remove more of it again. What remains is the judgement a consultant adds. Reducing the number is realistic; zeroing it is not.
What is the best way to find out the real figure for our agency?
A pilot on one desk. Measure the activity data before and after on real calls over a few weeks. That answers the question far better than any calculator, including this one.
Test it on one desk before you believe it
We will run a pilot on a single desk, measure the activity data on real calls, and show you what actually changed — rather than asking you to accept a figure from a calculator.
- Full audit of every line, number and contract you hold
- Honest view of what your CRM will and will not integrate with
- The call data you are not currently seeing, including missed inbound
- A written summary — yours to keep either way
