Start with a review

No obligation. Named engineer from the first call.

01Sound familiar?

The problems this fixes.

If two or more of these are hitting your business, this is the right conversation to have.

  1. 01

Missed calls because the current system is unreliable or badly configured.

  2. 02

Staff working across multiple offices, home and mobile without a single number plan.

  3. 03

A phone contract that renewed automatically and now costs more than it should.

  4. 04

Old handsets that will stop working when the PSTN switch-off completes.

  5. 05

A provider that takes days to make a simple change.

02What changes for you

Concrete outcomes, not marketing language.

Every benefit below is something we can point at within the first month.

01

One number plan

Route calls across offices, home working and mobiles without confusion.

02

Ready for the PSTN switch-off

All-IP calling on connectivity we understand and can support.

03

Fast changes

Menus, hunt groups and out-of-hours schedules updated by real engineers, not tickets in a queue.

04

Call intelligence built in

Optional Atom Insight adds recording, transcripts, summaries and coaching.

03Who this is for

Business phone systems for two users or two hundred, one office or twelve

Atom Voice, the Atom IP business phone system (the one people search for as “Atom phones”), runs a small office and a multi-site group on the same UK-hosted platform. Each page below covers one situation in depth: what you get, what it costs to run and what to watch for.

  • Small businesses replacing a landline or an old PBX
  • Offices moving staff to hybrid and home working
  • Multi-site firms wanting one number plan and one bill
  • Call-heavy teams that need recording, queues and reporting
  • Sales and recruitment teams dialling from a CRM
  • Anyone with analogue or ISDN lines ahead of the 2027 switch-off
Hosted VoIP01

Hosted VoIP

Hosted VoIP replaces the on-premise PBX with a phone system run from UK data centres. Your desk phones, laptops and mobiles connect over your broadband, and every change is made by an engineer in minutes rather than a site visit.

Small business phone systems02

Small business phone systems that make a five-person company sound and work like a bigger one

A small business does not need a smaller phone system; it needs the same professional features without the hardware, the long tie-in or the licence block it will never fill. Atom IP sets up cloud phone systems for UK companies from two users upwards.

Multi-site phone systems03

Multi-site phone systems

Running a separate phone system in each location means separate bills, separate suppliers and calls that cannot be transferred between sites. A hosted multi-site phone system puts every office on one platform with one number plan, one admin portal and one support team.

Call recording for business04

Business call recording that protects you in a dispute and stands up to a data request

Recording calls is easy to switch on and hard to do properly. Atom IP configures call recording with a documented lawful basis, encrypted storage, a retention period that actually deletes and access limited by role, on every device your team uses.

CRM phone integration05

CRM phone integration

Connecting your phone system to your CRM turns every call into a record without anyone doing the admin. Atom IP integrates Atom Voice with Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics and the main recruitment CRMs, and confirms exactly what will work against your own tenant before you sign.

Remote and hybrid working06

Remote working phone systems

Hybrid working broke the old phone system. Calls forwarded to personal mobiles are unrecorded, unreported and leave with the employee. A cloud phone system gives home and hybrid staff the same number, the same queues and the same visibility as the office.

Replacing your phone system07

Replacing your phone system

Switching phone provider worries people for good reason: numbers, contracts and go-live day can all go wrong. Atom IP runs migrations as a defined project, from reading your current contract to parallel running on cut-over day, so the business keeps answering throughout.

Connectivity

What broadband does a VoIP phone system need?

Less bandwidth than people expect and more stability than most lines provide. A call uses around 100 kbps each way, so ten simultaneous calls need roughly 1 Mbps. What matters is that voice is prioritised over downloads and video, the router and switches are business grade, and there is a fallback when the line fails.

  • We test your existing connection and network before quoting
  • Business FTTP or SoGEA for most offices; a leased line where calls are the business
  • Voice prioritised (QoS) on the router and switches we supply
  • Automatic 4G/5G failover so a broadband fault does not silence the phones
  • Mobile apps keep working on 4G/5G regardless of the office line
Scalability and support

Grows by configuration, supported by people who pick up

Adding a user, a home worker, a second office or a new trading name is a change in the portal, not a new system. Licence tiers can be mixed so the receptionist and the managing director are not paying for the same features. When something needs changing, a named engineer with a direct number does it within the working day.

  • Per-user pricing that tracks headcount up and down
  • Same platform from two users to a fifty-seat floor and beyond
  • Handsets shipped pre-configured; apps rolled out with short guides
  • Menu, hunt-group and out-of-hours changes made same day
  • Term, notice period and every cost in writing before you sign
04The full picture

The detail behind the headline.

If you like to read the small print before you talk to us — this is for you.

01

A modern cloud phone system, without the tie-in you regret

Atom Voice is a full unified-communications platform designed for UK businesses that are tired of PBX cupboards, dropped calls and providers who take three days to move an extension. It runs on carrier-grade infrastructure hosted in UK data centres, with geo-redundant call routing and encrypted signalling across every device.

You get a real phone system — deskphones, softphones, mobile apps, Microsoft Teams calling, contact-centre queues and analytics — configured by engineers who know how it fits together. Not a marketplace login and a PDF.

02

One number plan across every device your team uses

The people you employ answer calls in more places than a single deskphone. Atom Voice unifies mobile, desktop, deskphone and browser under a single UK number per user, with intelligent presence, twinning, follow-me routing and call handoff mid-conversation.

Assign one direct-dial number to a user and let them decide, per hour of the day, where it rings. Or push the whole team into an intelligent queue with skills routing and callback. Or route to your Microsoft Teams tenant with native Teams calling. Same platform, same admin portal, same bill.

03

Ready for the PSTN and ISDN switch-off

Openreach are removing the analogue and ISDN copper network by the end of January 2027. Every UK business phone line will be delivered over IP by then. Atom Voice is an all-IP platform from the ground up: nothing on your premises is dependent on copper, and no critical service — payment terminals, lift lines, alarm autodiallers — is left behind, because we survey and migrate those alongside the phones.

If your current provider has not written to you about the switch-off, that is a warning sign in itself.

04

Changes made in minutes by named engineers

Every Atom Voice customer has a named account engineer with a direct number. Menu changes, out-of-hours schedules, new users, hunt-group re-ordering and voicemail-box tweaks are typically live within the working day, not the working week. Emergency routing changes — an office evacuation, a snow closure, a burst pipe — can be applied in minutes from any device.

05

Built to work with Atom Insight and the rest of your stack

Every call that lands or leaves your business can be recorded, encrypted at rest, transcribed and summarised. Atom Insight lifts those transcripts into structured coaching, customer summaries and CRM notes automatically. Every call your team makes contributes to a growing, searchable record of your customer relationships — not just a bill.

06Real-world scenarios

How this works in practice.

Anonymised examples from the kind of businesses we work with every week.

Case scenario01

Multi-site professional services firm (24 users, 3 offices)

Situation

Solicitors' practice with offices in Southampton, Winchester and Portsmouth. Fee-earners split time between offices and home. Reception is manned from Southampton only.

Outcome

Every fee-earner has one direct dial that rings on their deskphone, mobile app and desktop softphone. Reception routes overflow to a shared team queue. All client calls are recorded and retained for six years to align with SRA record-keeping expectations. Total cost is lower than the previous three-office analogue system.

Case scenario02

Growing recruitment agency (40 seats, high outbound volume)

Situation

Recruitment team dialling candidates and clients all day. Every consultant uses Bullhorn. Calls previously logged manually — inconsistently.

Outcome

Click-to-dial from Bullhorn triggers Atom Voice through a headset. Every call auto-logs into Bullhorn with duration and recording link. Atom Insight adds an AI-generated summary and next-action to the candidate record. Consultant productivity is measurable for the first time.

Case scenario03

Retail chain (12 shops, EPOS-connected)

Situation

Shops using ageing analogue lines for phones and card payments. Every closure requires a physical BT visit.

Outcome

FTTP or 5G broadband delivered per site. Voice runs over the connectivity, with automatic failover to 4G if broadband fails. Card payments protected via a segregated network. Every shop has an in-store phone plus a corporate ring-group for the head office to reach any shop.

Case scenario04

Hospitality group (4 venues, front-of-house calls)

Situation

Restaurants receiving booking calls at peak service times. Missed calls mean lost covers.

Outcome

Calls ring in venue first, then overflow to a central bookings team after ten seconds. Missed calls send an SMS to the manager with the caller's number. Bookings staff see venue and previous booking history via CRM screen-pop.

Case scenario05

Care home / healthcare (nurse call and residents)

Situation

Residents' families ringing multiple times a day. Reception overwhelmed. Nurse-call intercom needing modernising.

Outcome

Dedicated inbound number for family calls with automatic routing based on resident name. Nurse-call intercom migrated to IP. Recording enabled for safeguarding calls, retained under CQC-aligned policies.

11How switching works

From first call to steady state.

A typical engagement runs to about four weeks. Nothing dramatic happens without your sign-off.

  1. 01
    Discovery (Week 1)

We audit your current bill, contract, call flows and pain points. Nothing is quoted until we understand what you actually need.

  2. 02
    Design (Week 2)

We map extensions, routing, integrations and hardware. You review a written plan before we build anything.

  3. 03
    Build (Week 3)

The platform is configured, integrations are tested, deskphones are provisioned and shipped. We port numbers on an agreed date and time.

  4. 04
    Cutover (Week 4)

A supervised go-live outside business hours. Engineers on-site or on-call. Old system stays live until cutover completes.

  5. 05
    Steady state (Week 5+)

A named engineer for the whole engagement. Quarterly reviews to keep the platform aligned to how you actually work.

Why customers stay

The reasons customers rarely leave.

Plain, verifiable, honest.
