Business call recording that protects you in a dispute and stands up to a data request
Recording calls is easy to switch on and hard to do properly. Atom IP configures call recording with a documented lawful basis, encrypted storage, a retention period that actually deletes and access limited by role, on every device your team uses.
Why businesses record calls
Three reasons come up in almost every conversation. Disputes: what was actually agreed on the phone, when a customer or supplier remembers it differently. Training: letting a new starter hear how an experienced colleague handles the same call. Compliance: sectors such as legal, financial services and recruitment where clients or regulators expect calls to be recorded and retrievable.
- Record all calls, selected users, or on demand
- Works identically on desk phones, laptop softphones and mobile apps
- Recordings encrypted at rest in UK data centres
- Searchable by number, user, date and, with Atom Insight, by what was said
- Retention period set per business and enforced automatically
- Access scoped by role, with every playback logged
Doing it lawfully in the UK
UK businesses can record calls, but they need a lawful basis under UK GDPR, must tell people that calls are recorded, must keep recordings only as long as needed and must be able to produce or delete them when someone asks. We build those requirements into the configuration: a recording announcement where you want one, a written retention policy, and access controls that mean the whole office cannot listen to everything.
From recordings to useful information
A library of recordings nobody has time to listen to is not much use. Atom Insight, the Atom IP call intelligence platform, transcribes and summarises recorded calls, scores them against criteria you set and pushes notes into your CRM. Managers review the calls that matter rather than sampling at random.
Not sure which option fits? Ten minutes with an engineer will tell you.
Tell us how many people need a phone, where they work and what you run today. You get a straight answer on options and cost, not a sales script.

A small business does not need a smaller phone system; it needs the same professional features without the hardware, the long tie-in or the licence block it will never fill. Atom IP sets up cloud phone systems for UK companies from two users upwards.

“Good guys — worked with them to switch over from a previous very good supplier. They have gone above and beyond to understand our needs and bespoke systems to help support our specific needs. Transition over on getting their systems up and running was smooth. As a small business owner, trust and confidence are important to me.”
“We have been using Josh at Atom for a few years now. Service has always been amazing. Just today our router blew up due to a power surge and he came out promptly with a new one to make sure we were back online in time for trading. Would highly recommend.”
“There aren’t many telecom providers that can be described as truly honest and straightforward. Georgia was very well spoken and made me feel my company was in the right hands. Ollie and Josh responded promptly throughout getting my phones and security systems set up. The install was seamless with no drop in connectivity and no technical issues since.”
