Remote working phone systems: the office number, on every device, wherever the team is
Hybrid working broke the old phone system. Calls forwarded to personal mobiles are unrecorded, unreported and leave with the employee. A cloud phone system gives home and hybrid staff the same number, the same queues and the same visibility as the office.
What remote staff get
Each person has one business number that rings a laptop softphone, a mobile app and, if they have one, a desk phone, all at once or in the order they choose. Outbound calls present the business number. Calls are recorded and reported exactly as in the office. Presence shows colleagues whether someone is on a call, and transfers between home and office are internal.

Wallboards and reports do not care where a person sits. A team leader sees calls made, answered, missed and talk time across office and home on the same screen, and can coach from recordings in the same way. Onboarding a new remote starter is configuration: extension, app login and queue membership before their first day.
Home broadband and call quality
Most home connections handle voice comfortably; the problems are usually Wi-Fi congestion and video calls competing on the same link. We check home connectivity during onboarding, recommend a wired connection or a decent headset where it makes a difference, and the mobile app on 4G/5G is always there as a fallback.
