Multi-site phone systems: one platform across every office, branch and home worker
Running a separate phone system in each location means separate bills, separate suppliers and calls that cannot be transferred between sites. A hosted multi-site phone system puts every office on one platform with one number plan, one admin portal and one support team.
How a multi-site phone system works
Each site connects to the same cloud platform over its own broadband. Extensions are a single numbering plan, so a receptionist in Southampton transfers a caller to a colleague in Portsmouth as if they sat next door. Main numbers per site route to that site's team by default and overflow anywhere you choose: another branch, a head-office queue or a mobile app.
Because nothing site-specific lives in a cupboard, opening a new location is a matter of connectivity and handsets. Closing or moving one is a routing change.
- Free internal calls and transfers between every site
- Per-site main numbers with local presence, central overflow and out-of-hours routing
- Site, department and group-level reporting and wallboards
- Central administration with delegated rights for site managers
- Per-brand caller identity and greetings for groups with several trading names
- Consistent call recording policy applied everywhere
Resilience across locations
A multi-site system should make you more resilient, not create a single point of failure. If one site loses broadband, its numbers reroute automatically to another site or to mobile apps, and the site itself can fail over to 4G/5G. If a site is evacuated, an emergency routing change is applied in minutes from any device.
Typical multi-site deployments
Professional services firms with three or four offices wanting one reception experience. Retail groups whose shops need a phone that works alongside EPOS and card terminals. Hospitality groups routing front-of-house calls to a central booking team out of hours. Care providers linking homes to a head office. The pattern is the same: local presence, central control.
Migrating several sites without disruption
We move one site first, prove routing and porting on real calls, then migrate the remaining sites in agreed waves. Numbers port in tranches with the old system live until the final port, so no location loses inbound calls during the change.

Hosted VoIP: a business phone system that lives in the cloud, not in a cupboard
Hosted VoIP replaces the on-premise PBX with a phone system run from UK data centres. Your desk phones, laptops and mobiles connect over your broadband, and every change is made by an engineer in minutes rather than a site visit.

Hybrid working broke the old phone system. Calls forwarded to personal mobiles are unrecorded, unreported and leave with the employee. A cloud phone system gives home and hybrid staff the same number, the same queues and the same visibility as the office.

Recording calls is easy to switch on and hard to do properly. Atom IP configures call recording with a documented lawful basis, encrypted storage, a retention period that actually deletes and access limited by role, on every device your team uses.

“Good guys — worked with them to switch over from a previous very good supplier. They have gone above and beyond to understand our needs and bespoke systems to help support our specific needs. Transition over on getting their systems up and running was smooth. As a small business owner, trust and confidence are important to me.”
“We have been using Josh at Atom for a few years now. Service has always been amazing. Just today our router blew up due to a power surge and he came out promptly with a new one to make sure we were back online in time for trading. Would highly recommend.”
“There aren’t many telecom providers that can be described as truly honest and straightforward. Georgia was very well spoken and made me feel my company was in the right hands. Ollie and Josh responded promptly throughout getting my phones and security systems set up. The install was seamless with no drop in connectivity and no technical issues since.”

Discuss a multi-site phone system from the engineers who will install it
Roughly how many users, how many sites and what you run today is enough to start. You will hear back from an engineer within one working day.
- Keep your existing numbers, ported from any UK provider

Phone systems alongside the rest of your setup
A phone system only works as well as the broadband under it and the contract around it.
